Last weekend, the girls’ tennis team traveled to Columbia, MO, and dominated the competition, placing first in the annual Mid Missouri Invitational Duals tournament. This week, they’re preparing for a trip to Chicago to play in the Stevenson Tournament.
Sophomore Addie Haines is optimistic about their chances and hopes to continue the team’s success.
“The trip to Chicago last year was very fun and it brought our team closer,” Haines said. “This year I am expecting similar, successful outcomes and can’t wait for the trip.”
The team is currently holding a 7-0 record nearly halfway through the season. They have faced Marquette High School and Parkway Central, winning 9-0 both times. With just eight matches remaining before the playoffs, the girls are not only gearing up for the state tournament, but are training with their sights set on a championship title.
