Students in fourth hour Advanced Placement Physics C: Mechanics participated in a March Madness style activity March 3, to determine the rotational inertia of varying objects on an incline. Students were tasked with guessing which objects would roll the fastest down the incline located across the second floor bridgeway. They could touch the objects, but could not test them beforehand. Students tested their guesses by rolling objects down the incline against each other, in a bracket similar to the way the National College Athletics Association’s March Madness does. “It was cool to get out of class and have fun in the morning,” Maddox Wolf (12) said. “With March Madness coming up it was fun to use the brackets and actually test the objects in real time.
