The girls’ varsity lacrosse team will start their season with three jamboree games hosted by Lafayette High School March 12 beginning at 5 p.m.
Many sports use the Jamboree as a trial run before the regular season games begin. The team’s first real game is March 25 against Eureka High School.
“I’m really excited for the Jamboree because it gives us a chance to play together before the season actually starts,” Sadie Steinbach (10) said.
Steinbach and other new varsity players have these three games to adjust to a higher speed of play. This benefits their development by not forcing them into overly competitive spaces too soon.
“I was a bit nervous during tryouts, but the environment at lacrosse is just so fun,” Steinbach said. “Now I can’t wait for the season to start.”
At the jamboree, the team plays short games against Wentzville, Ursuline and Lafayette. Even though these games do not contribute to their overall record, the girls’ lacrosse team is ready to compete and start off the season strong.
“[On jamboree day] I’m definitely looking forward to seeing how we play together against other teams and to practice our celebrations that we do after we score,” Steinbach said.

The game took place April 29, 2025 and ended in a 12-10 victory for the Rams. “The energy [at the game] was super high because they were the number one seed at the time, and we were not expected to win, but we did,” Derdoy said.](https://laduetoday.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/SB9A1686-Enhanced-NR-e1774887233738-1200x767.jpg)
