Police were dispatched to Ladue High School Tuesday, Nov. 18 at 7 a.m. after receiving an anonymous tip that a Ladue student was potentially in possession of a firearm. Soon after receiving the anonymous tip, administration was informed, and additional officers from the Ladue and Frontenac Police Department searched for the student prior to school starting.
The student arrived in the school parking lot but did not leave their vehicle. Once police began to approach the vehicle, the student drove away into a nearby neighborhood where a handgun was found inside the car. The student was then apprehended without any additional issues.
The weapon was not presented to any student or staff, and the incident concluded without any altercations. Additional information about the incident could not be provided due to the fact that the student is a minor.
