Q: What made you start playing golf, and why did you want to join the team?
A: I’ve been playing golf since I was 3 years old. I was actually going to play field hockey when I came to high school as I had played for 6 years prior, but decided that golf would be beneficial for my mental health and I would have more time to balance school and sports.
Q: Looking back on this season, how did it go for you and the team?
A: This season was amazing, we were undefeated as a varsity team 9-0. Everyone really wanted to be there and was committed to the team. We are a small but mighty connected team.
Q: Were there any personal or team goals that you were working towards this season?
A: We moved up a class this year to the highest class and as a team we really wanted to succeed and allow every player to grow.
Q: What has been your favorite memory or moment from this season?
A: My favorite memory from the season was definitely senior night. It was so special, and not only did my best friend come to watch but I got to play my final round as a Ladue girls golf player with my dad.
Q: Can you describe some of your favorite memories that you’ve had with the Girls Golf team in years past?
A: Some of my favorite memories on the team would be traveling to districts. We had a theme song [for] the trip and [had] such an amazing time being together as a team with Keltner. Also, [I enjoyed] our mental health walks before practice and themed dress up days. I loved doing the two ball challenge and I had an amazing time running the Instagram for the past 2 years.
Q: Looking back on your high school gold career, what personal lessons have you learned from golf and being a part of this team?
A: Being a part of this team has really shown me how even in an independent sport, being part of a team truly matters. As I look back on when I joined the team as a freshman, I am in awe of the growth I have endured and how not only my golf game [improved] but who I really am has grown.
