Q: What is your main goal for yourself heading into your first playoff game on Saturday?
A: My main goal for myself heading into my first playoff game on Saturday is to play my hardest and give it my absolute best because it’s my last guaranteed game as a senior. I want to be very aggressive, but also stay composed so I can be smart on the field. I want to leave the field knowing I did everything I can, whatever the circumstances.
Q: What is your main goal for the team heading into the game?
A: My main goal for the team heading into the game is that we use each other on the field and play for each other. I want us to believe in ourselves and our talent, and also have everyone try their hardest because we all strive for the same goal, which is to win. I also want us to use our passing and team chemistry to our advantage because it’s the most important thing in a team. I need us to trust each other and build each other up because we can do anything if we work together.
Q: How have you been preparing yourself for the playoffs?
A: I’ve been preparing for the playoffs by practicing everyday, not only during the week, but also on the weekend to get extra touches in. I also have been thinking about how my field hockey career is slowly coming to an end, so I want to bring everything I got to honor this sport and what it’s done for me. By putting myself into this mindset, it will push me to work as hard as I can during these playoffs and not to give up whatever happens on the field.
Q: What has been the best part of being on the field hockey team this season?
A: The best part of being on the field hockey team this season is definitely my teammates. They are my best friends and I appreciate each and every single one of them. I enjoy our team bondings and just talking to each other throughout the season. It’s so special to me that I have a group of people that want to see my best work and uplifts me even when I make a mistake. You really become like a family when you see each other everyday for hours on end.
Q: What are you looking forward to most about heading into this season?
A: I am most looking forward to the ride to the championship by taking it one game at a time. I am excited for our Sweet 16 game this Saturday against Parkway South. I want our team to show that we are ready for these battles and are prepared to take on any team. I hope that we win and if we do, use it to build onto our next game. If we make it to the Elite 8, my main goal would be to beat the team whoever is aligned with us because it would make program history for Ladue Field Hockey to make it into the Final Four. I am thrilled to see how my teammates and I work together in this playoffs.
