Q: What are you most excited about for this year’s Dance Marathon?
A: I’m most excited to hear the stories of the miracle children who Dance Marathon helps support.
Q: How has the preparation process been leading up to the event?
A: The preparation has been a lot, but it’s been really rewarding and a great time with the board.
Q: What challenges have you faced while organizing Dance Marathon, and how did you overcome them?
A: We’ve faced a lot of challenges, especially with logistics, but we have a lot of people helping us out, so it is easy to overcome
Q: How do you motivate participants to stay excited and engaged throughout the event?
A: We motivate participants by using fundraising incentives, trying to get as hype as we can, reaching out a lot and making sure everyone knows what is going on so they can be super excited about the event. During the event, we have lots of activities going on with food and music to keep people engaged the whole time.
Q: What cause will this Dance Marathon support and why are they important to you?
A: Dance Marathon directly supports the Children’s Miracle network of St. Louis, SSM Health and St. Louis Children’s. It is fully Child Life funds, so the money can help children still feel like kids while in the hospital and help them have a good time in the face of their illnesses.
Q: What role do participants play in making the event successful?
A: Participants play a big role in Dance Marathon by raising money and being the heart of the event by bringing the hype and support.
Q: How has being a leader for this event impacted you personally?
A: Being a leader has impacted me greatly because I have been very inspired by the bravery of the we support children and the overall impact we are able to make. Seeing my fellow Ladue students make such a big impact is really rewarding.
Q: What advice would you give someone interested in leading or participating in a Dance Marathon?
A: I would encourage individuals interested in Dance Marathon to do it because it is a really rewarding experience, and it is really special. Whether that means just coming to the event or applying for Morale, Executive Board or even director, it is always worth it.
